Finally you are able to make Mochi by yourself with this Maehara Seifun Mochi flour. Shiratamako or Mochiko is a type of glutinous rice flour, also called sweet rice flour, made from mochigome (glutinous short-grain Japanese rice). Used specifically to make Japanese sweets known as wagashi.

Shiratamako flour is what gives mochi its distinctive chewy and elastic texture. It has a creamy taste, and you'll definitely notice the smooth, refined and elastic bouncy and chewy texture of deliciously sweet mochi when using this. Literally translated, Shiratamako means “white jade powder” and you’ll see the unique coarse grain texture of the flour when you open the bag.
