Shirashinken Barley Shochu 720ml
The Shirashinken Barley Shochu from Takara Distillery is crafted with 100% Japanese Nijo barley. This traditional Mugi (barley) Shochu is prepared with Black Koji (Kuro Koji), lending it a distinctive sweet aroma. Distilled at low temperatures, it delivers a mellow flavor and smoothness. Stored for over three years, the Shochu retains a complex character that showcases the original taste of wheat.
Takara Distillery is based in the Oita region, recognized for its long-standing expertise in traditional shochu production methods. The distillery carefully selects Japanese barley and emphasizes techniques that bring out rich flavors and aromas, winning multiple prestigious awards. In 2022 alone, Shirashinken received a Bronze in the International Spirits Challenge, a Gold Medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition, and a Gold Medal at the Concours Honkaku-shochu & Awamori at Kura Master.
