Black Fungus Mu-Err Mushroom 50g
These Black Fungus mushrooms, are native to China, where they are also called cloud ear fungus, Mu-err, wood ear, wood fungus, black mushrooms, and tree ear fungus.
The musrooms look thin and frail, curled tightly into itself. Wood ear mushrooms take their name from the fact that they grow on the sides of decaying trees. If you are looking at the broad, flat shape of the mushroom, it makes the tree look like it has ears.
Black Fungus are crunchy and gelatinous and have a delicate forest aroma.These mushrooms are used in many Asian cooking, but most commonly in Chinese cooking.
Since Wood Ear mushroom are known for its chewy-crunchy texture, often they are used in soups or in a stir-fry. Then the mushrooms will take on flavors from other ingredients when cooked and add texture to the dish. The do really good as a ramen topping as well.
- How to use: Soak 60min in water, then drain and cook for at least 10 min.
