This traditional Sakura Hon Mirin has been used by Japan's star chefs for many years. Especially professionals and gourmets all over Japan often choose mirin from the Mikawa region. The region is located in Aichi Prefecture and famous for their fermented foods.
The Kokonoe Brewery has specialized in Mirin for approximately 250 years and uses only Japanese basic ingredients for this unique signature product. A real hon mirin made only from mochi rice (glutinous rice), koji and rice shochu is brewed traditionally using the old method and no sugar or other flavors or preservatives are added.
